Late last month, residents, family members and team members celebrated the completion of a nearly six-month long remodeling project at the Suites at Someren Glen that included a refresh of the entrance, the dining room, staircase, lower living room and creation of a dedicated activities space for long-term care residents known as the Resident Hub.
Beth Corn, Director of Community Life at Someren Glen, said residents are especially enjoying the new Resident Hub, which hosts a variety of activities including Memories in the Making. Because there was no dedicated space for these activities previously, the weekly art class was being held in a conference room. Now, supplies will always be available so that residents can paint, do puzzles, and craft whenever they want.
The refresh also included a far more aesthetically pleasing dining venue that has positioned the community to more effectively offer open dining to residents.
Last year, the Suites at Someren Glen unveiled the first of its enhancements to the community when the state-of-the-art Transitional Care Neighborhood opened to serve those needing short-term rehabilitation.
If you are in the neighborhood, be sure to drop by.
