Sharon Kaye bubbles with an infectious enthusiasm for serving older adults. Her positive attitudes have spilled across her family – three of her daughters followed in her footsteps to become members of the Someren Glen team as well! Sharon’s leadership of her team of health care professionals has been marked by incredibly low turnover. She inspires loyalty and passion in her team that has resulted in people wanting to continue serving the older adults at Someren Glen.
Dee Deeter, a Someren Glen resident, spoke with Sharon, who shared the story below.
Sharon Kaye will celebrate ten years of employment here at Someren Glen in February 2019. She’s an exemplary employee and is a dedicated team member in administering care for Someren Glen residents in assisted living.
Sharon began her service with Someren Glen as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Later, she felt compelled to further her education, resulting in becoming a License Practical Nurse. This accomplishment was through the encouragement and support of her family and Someren Glen. Five years ago, she advanced to Assisted Living Director. She now feels she is able to minister more effectively and efficiently in performing her nursing care duties.
Being well educated in elder nursing is useful in providing the best care possible, and she’s committed to doing this as long as “the Good Lord allows.” She understands the value of human touch and is an angel who listens without judging, ministers without time constraints. Sharon loves what she is able to do in bringing comfort and love to those in her care.
As a leader, she excels and those she works with admire, respect and love her. To Sharon, this is a very special position she holds, that was predetermined for her – a journey of love that God intended for her to take.
