Congratulations to Someren Glen Memory Care Coordinator Erin Hudnall who will be attending the LeadingAge National Conference in late October as the recipient of the Servant Leader scholarship. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the scholarship was established in 2016 to provide an opportunity for emerging leaders at Christian Living Communities to grow their skills and view of the senior living industry.
Hudnall, who joined CLC in 2007 as a server working in the kitchen before advancing, contributed to version 1.0 of CLC’s Rhythms Dementia Services and is one of CLC’s dementia services leaders. She led the Memory Care neighborhood at Someren Glen on a two-year journey to become the state’s first community accredited by Comfort Matters Dementia Care Education.
“I feel like it’s going to be a really great opportunity,” said Hudnall about participating at the conference, which typically draws more than 6,000 attendees. “I want to find out as much as I can.”
Hudnall intends to take information gleaned from the conference and share with others in the organization as part of her mentoring of CLC dementia educators. Long-term, her personal plans include becoming a certified dementia care specialist through CPI, an international training organization.
