Someren Glen is partnering with Colorado Spirit to bring our residents and families a COVID-19 six-part support series, Together We! Thrive. This past year, the Covid-19 pandemic has challenged us in many ways. It has brought on a lot of stress and disrupted our daily routines and our lives. Recognizing the impact of these challenges on our mental and emotional well-being, Christian Living Communities and Someren Glen is working with the Colorado Spirit team to offer the “Together We Thrive” six-part support series. Together We Thrive will feature short video sessions and handouts offering professional and practical ways to support your whole well-being, so that we can find healthy ways to cope with our stress. Videos will be released on Facebook bi-monthly on Tuesdays, see the full schedule here.
The 6-part series kicked off on January 26th with “Self-Compassion in the Face of Disaster,” with Dr. Kristin Pyne. She explains how to face your emotions with self-compassion, knowing that these emotional responses are normal responses to an abnormal time. Instead of toughing it out or criticizing yourself, self-compassion invites you to acknowledge the difficult time you are experiencing and calls you to comfort and care for yourself just as you would comfort and care for a close loved one.
